Meeting South Westphalia

How can we reconcile #windPower and #forest protection? ⚡🌲 The #energyTransition is one of the greatest challenges of our time. To achieve the climate goals, we must push ahead with the expansion of #renewableEnergies. But how can we do this without causing lasting damage to nature? To this end, our SouthWestphalia demonstrator is studying the effects of wind turbines on forest ecosystems and developing measures to mitigate them! Yesterday, Katharina Dröge, co-chair of the Green Party’s parliamentary group in the German Bundestag, visited the project and got an impression of a wind farm in Sundern-Wildewiese, which is planned in a forest area.

We are thrilled to share that the KNOWING project conducted a highly productive External Expert Advisory Board (EEAB) Online Workshop. This workshop brought together a diverse group of 16 experienced experts, representing various sectors and areas of expertise such as finance, climate sciences, agriculture, transport, energy, and more.

First Stakeholder Workshop Naples

How to #adapt to climate hazards? The city of Naples invited stakeholders to learn from their input and think about new pathways to adapt to coastal and pluvial #floods and #heatwaves.
