About Our Organisation
ENEA is the National Agency for New Technologies, Energy and Sustainable Economic Development, a public body aimed at research, technological innovation and the provision of advanced services to enterprises, public administration and citizens in the sectors of energy, the environment and sustainable economic development.
Its focus sectors are energy technologies (renewable sources, energy storage, smart grids), for which the Agency is also the coordinator of the Energy National Technology Cluster, nuclear fusion and nuclear safety (the Agency is the reference national research coordinator), energy efficiency (with the National Agency for Energy Efficiency), technologies for cultural heritage, seismic protection, food safety, pollution, life sciences, strategic raw materials and climate change.
Our Role in KNOWING
ENEA takes on a leadership role in Task 3.3, focusing on “Flooding & Infrastructure” Pathways. Collaborating with partners 3, 4, 5, 9, 12, 13, 14, and 19, they customize the Integrated Impact Modelling Framework (IIMF) to encompass various sectors like land use, energy, regional climate, and flooding. Their work involves adapting the framework to incorporate specific adaptation and mitigation measures for locations such as Naples and Granollers. ENEA’s regional climate simulations contribute to defining Climate Impact Coping (CIC2) Pathways that effectively address flooding challenges. Additionally, ENEA’s involvement in Task 1.3 helps identify Climate Impact Coping Typologies through surveys and research, contributing to the development of strategies within the Impact Interaction Model Framework.
