The KNOWING Decision Support Service (DSS) is now available, providing policymakers, regional authorities and public administrations with a new way to explore climate mitigation and adaptation pathways across Europe.

The interactive platform makes the experiences, modelling results and integrated pathways of the four KNOWING demonstrators searchable and comparable. South Westphalia (DE), Tallinn (EE), Naples (IT) and Granollers (ES) address different Climate Impact Contexts, including agriculture and forestry, urban heat and health, coastal flooding and infrastructure, and river flooding and infrastructure.

Users can select a European region or a specific climate goal and identify which demonstrator offers the most relevant reference for their local context. They can then explore the corresponding pathway, intervention bundles, impact chains, modelling results and lessons learned from regional implementation.

At the heart of the platform is the Transferability Index, which compares environmental, climate-specific, socio-economic, implementation-related and wider contextual conditions. It helps users assess where experiences and pathway elements developed in the demonstrator regions may also be relevant to other European territories.

The pathways combine mitigation and adaptation measures and show their sequencing, interactions and expected impacts through to 2050. They are not intended as a universal ‘master pathway’ to be adopted unchanged. Instead, they provide policy makers and administrations with a structured reference pathway that can serve as orientation, inspiration and a benchmark for developing or reviewing their own climate strategies.

Explore the KNOWING Decision Support Service and discover how the experience gained in four European regions can support practical, context-sensitive climate action elsewhere.
