Data Privacy

This website is operated by AIT Austrian Institute of Technology GmbH. Below we describe how your personal data is processed in connection with this website.

What data do we process?

In the course of your visit to this website, the date, time, IP address, name and version of your web browser, the website (URL) you accessed immediately before this website, certain cookies and the information you enter yourself are collected.

You are not required to provide any information that we ask you to provide on our website. In this case, it is possible that not all functions of the website will be available to you.

Cookies

So-called “cookies” are used on this website. These are small files that can be stored on your computer when you visit a website. In principle, cookies are used to provide users with additional functions on a website. For example, they can be used to make it easier for you to navigate a website, to allow you to return to a website where you left it and/or to remember your preferences and settings when you revisit a website. Cookies cannot access, read or modify any other data on your computer.

Most cookies on this website are so-called “session cookies”, which are automatically deleted when you leave the website. However, we may also use “persistent cookies” which remain stored on your computer. This allows us to recognise you the next time you visit our website.

If you want to check whether cookies are stored on your computer, you can activate the corresponding notification function in your browser. Cookies stored on your computer can be blocked or deleted. However, this may prevent you from making full use of this website.

Web analysis

Within the scope of the Matomo reach analysis, the following data is processed on the basis of our legitimate interests (i.e. interest in the analysis, optimisation and economic operation of our online offer within the meaning of Art. 6 Para. 1 lit. f. DSGVO): the type and version of browser you use, the operating system you use, your country of origin, the date and time of the server request, the number of visits, the time you spend on the website and the external links you click. The user’s IP address is anonymised before it is stored.

Matomo uses cookies that are stored on the user’s computer and enable an analysis of the use of our online offer by the user. Pseudonymous user profiles can be created from the processed data. The cookies have a storage period of one week. The information generated by the cookie about your use of this website is only stored on our server and is not passed on to third parties.

Users can object to the anonymised data collection by the Matomo programme at any time with future effect by clicking on the link below. In this case, a so-called opt-out cookie is stored in their browser, which means that Matomo no longer collects any session data. However, if users delete their cookies, this also results in the opt-out cookie being deleted and must therefore be reactivated by the users.
